Considering the problems the TS-101 appears to be experiencing coping with SS 6.5,Does anyone know what the memory will be in the TS-201, whether or not it will be upgradable, and if Progressive AV will be supplying and supporting it.

The QNAP 201 has a press release from last week http://www.qnap.com.tw/PressRelease_detail.asp?pr_id=42
Allows 2x 750 GB hot swappable drives - to a total of 1.5 TB (but you already knew that!). Also have UPnP as standard.
Further info including datasheets etc from
http://www.qnap.com.tw/pro_detail_feature.asp?p_id=74
If you click on the Downloads->Technical Documentation tab you will find the GPL source for the turbostation 201. It is currently public for all to see (and yes there is also one for the 101 as well). However there was no real mention of what the memory is inside.

I managed to find somewhere that it'll have 128mb DRAM.But no where can I find if it will be upgradable. One of the posts in the forum, when discussing another NAS device has calculated that SS6.5 would need 1gb DRAM to run smoothly.

The TS101 has four (two free) slots for memory (see the thread TS101 internals) and a total of 64MB (2x32MB SDRAM). Perhaps the TS201 has 128 by using 4x32MB SDRAM? The 101-chips are SMD soldered so changing is not trival (unless you have sparky tendancies).
If the TS201 uses the same CPU (which Im assuming since both turbostation tarballs contain references to 101 and 201) then it should support upto 8 banks of 512MBit memory - or 2GByte ram. Note as funkstar pointed out; these are not the same! The technical docs need a bit more examining and experimentation.
