Hi

I've transferred my music folder on to a linkstation. I'm running iTunes and slimserver on my laptop and have referenced iTunes to the folder on the Linkstation without any problems. However, when I've tried to rescan my music files with the slimserver it comes up with this message:

New value for Playlists Folder rejected:

Oops - "P:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music" doesn't seem to be a valid directory. Try again.

New value for Music Folder rejected:

Oops - "P:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music" doesn't seem to be a valid directory. Try again.

Any help appreciated.

Chris.

If you made a map on the linkstation called 'My Music' than you should have:

/mnt/hda/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music

Thanks for the reply.

I've already mapped the network drive so am a little confused by what you are suggesting.

Sorry, I don't think I understood your question in the first place.

If it's a Windows laptop then the reference to your linkstation needs to be a UNC-style network name.

e.g. One of my linkstations is called 'LS1', so the path to my music is \\LS1\Music

Goto the FAQ and search for "network" http://www.slimdevices.com/su_faq.html

Thanks. All sorted now by typing in:

\\[linkstation name]\[shared folder name]\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music

Also had to change the access settings on the shared folder.

BTW, the reason the other didn't work ...

drive letters are assigned when you log on to windows.

drive letters are different for each different login id

when slimserver runs as a service, by default, it does not run as a user, therefore, no drive letters are assigned

in particular the drive letters you use are not available

even if you're the only user on the system.
