Hi,

So I've enabled my port to allow me access to SlimServer on my host pc, and can control the playlist from a remote location without any problems (I know this because I logged onto another wireless network outside of my own network and was able to control my Squeezebox), however, I cannot seem to get the stream to work. I've followed the instruction on the SlimDevices page about remote streaming. In Winamp, iTunes or WM player they all connect to the stream but I just cannot seem to get any audio! I even tried another LAN network at a different location and same problem - no audio, but the streams buffer and connect.

The ports I've forwarded from my router are 9000 and 3483. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

You'll need TCP _and_ UDP for port 3483.

Sorry, I'm not a techie. :) What exactly do you mean when you say I need TCP and UDP?

Do I need to enable them on the host server end or on the remote computer end and how is it generally done?

Thanks!

I checked some settings and I have udp and tcp for port 3483 set up as an exception in Windows firewall on the SlimServer host, and the port 3483 is forwarded through my router. Is there something I am missing?

You have to make sure that the _router_ does forward port 3483 for both of
them (udp & tcp), too.

I have a Netgear MR814 router, and from what I understand, it has both the TCP and UDP traffic passing through the same port.
There is also no explicit option for me to select the port to be TCP or UDP.

Sorry to be a pain, but thanks for your help/suggestions

Very strange, but I went to another computer at my school's lab and now it streams perfectly - I can hear the audio.

Thanks for all your help in anycase!
