Guys, I have seen some threads pushing Paul to update "his" documentation. I kind of agree as this is the easiest way but at the end it is our documentation and it helps us (not him) to have it.
Today I added some words about QNAP NAS solutions into wiki under: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SlimServer
This could only be a start of a more dedicated wiki page. A good example may be the: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WRT54G
Wouldn't it be great to have something similar for our QNAP / slimserver?
Well I did a start and created a kind of a shell on wiki. Have a look at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QNAP_TS-101
The information conatined has been punshed in vey briefly and I hope there is no offence contained for Progressive Consumer Electronics Ltd or QNAP Systens Inc. If so, fell free to modify.
As said before, the QNAP wiki is currently just a shell and it would be great if all of you contribute just a view words on information you find relevant to add.

I am all for this as I think it is a great idea.
I will be updating and publishing the TS-101/401T with SlimServer documentation probably in the first two weeks of September when I am on paternaty leave (don't worry I will still be online).
I will be trawling all of the information in the thread and compiling any of the useful stuff. I might even have a section of Marks posts for a laugh ;)
Thanks
I also think that would be a great idea. As I’ve suggested elsewhere, there’s some useful information in the monster 'Qnap TS-101 Update' but it’s not really fair to expect new users to wade through all that every time!

There is also http://wiki.slimdevices.com and http://faq.slimdevices.com as well. Because most of the information here is directed at Pauls implimentation of Slimserver on Qnap boxes, it would be good to get some docs on these too.

Did the Wiki ever move forwards? I guess Paul from Progessive has other priorities (which is fair!)

I have just added details about the new firmware to the wiki page. The link points to QNAP however, as I didn't want non-slimserver users heading over to Progressive's site.

The updates to QNAP wiki look great. There are other wiki's such as the ones at slimdevices but I do think it is fair to have the QNAP manifested on an independent wiki such as the one on wikipedia.
My knowledge about wikipedia is fairly limited which prevents me to add a feature.
Currently you can only find the wiki page by entering the search string: "QNAP TS-101".
I wanted to also have search results popping up when searching for "QNAP" or "TS-101".
Anyone??????
Norman
P.S. The intention of the QNAP wikipedia was to unload some organisational work from Paul. I think we "the users" can easily help him with this by keeping the wiki up to date.

The community around the P5 Dataglove recently moved to Wikia.com - it was more tailored to small groups of people rather than a full wikipedia. Link :-> http://scratchpad.wikia.com/wiki/P5_Glove
When I have a bit of time I will be putting some extra info onto whichever wiki is eventually used.

Just posting a link to the 'users Turbostation mini wiki' there is quite a bit of info but still many things to add; feel free to explore and add as you see fit. There is also a link to the Wikipedia page of Norman; which is a good place for more general info.
