View Full Version : Sluggish/clipping tracks?

When I change tracks SB is sluggish--takes a few seconds to play the next track. Also, the first half second or so of tracks is sometimes clipped. I'm running XP with 256megs of RAM and not much else program-wise. My Music folder is on a USB 2 external hard drive. Any ideas?

we might need some other details first:
what processor PC?
what slimserver version (stable/beta (branch 6.3 or 6.5)?
what format music files (mp3/aac/flac etc)?
wired squeezbox/wireless, SB1, 2, or "3"?
does this occur _every_ time you change tracks?
is this with the remote or the web interface... etc

I have a Celeron at 2.4Ghz, 256 RAM, server 6.2.2, music in apple lossless, the issue occurs both with web interface and remote, and it happens every time. I do notice it seems to be less of an issue with playlists than when I'm browsing music. Thanks for any help.

Just discovered 6.3 and that magically made all my problems disappear. I wonder what it was...
