I have just received my SB3 Player on Monday. I have a question how come on the Player Information (2 of 7) Player Model:squeezebox2.
Isn't it supposed to display "Squeezebox3" but not Squeezebox2. I wonder is there anything wrong the with player? The Player Firmware Version is 48. Is there anyway to update to reflect the correct version of the player.
thanks

there is nothing wrong. they are the SAME THING from the server
perspective, as they are the same hardware.
this has been asked and answered many times on the forum (it has a
search feature)
The only way to tell is by mac address, and the server version 6.3 had
nightly builds where this detection is used to report and make people
feel all fuzzy inside again.

Nothing to worry about: SB2 and SB3 are the same devices in different
casings (and slightly different board layout). They use the same firmware.

I understood that in firmware 48 (or maybe even earlier) the Player Info display would now differentiate between v2 and v3 - it certainly does on my boxes. I have one of each and the info is differnet (and correct) on each.
Could it be that this is because I am running 6.5b1?
[EDIT] I guess kdf answered my question while I was posting - assume this is a 6.3 and 6.5 feature.
