View Full Version : SB3 board dimensions
if there is a post or wiki that covers this i can't find it and would appreciate a pointer. otherwise:
what are the dimensions for the SB3 mainboard? i'm not interested in the outside dimensions i have already measured, but rather the exact placement of the fastener holes through the board. as they are offset, measuring their positions is a challenge.
thanks,
bb
bump.
i emailed sean adams directly about this, as well, but didn't hear back. can anyone please help out?
thanks,

i was aware of that thread, but it does not answer my question. unfortuantely, i apparently offended the slimdevices folk sufficiently that they took to ignoring my questions entirely. i've just made do with some manually gleaned dimensions and am not expecting to ever get an official response with the information.

I don't think the slim boys take offense so quickly. You could try again. Maybe the communication was lost in one direction or the other.
In any case, you can answer the question yourself with a vernier and gauge pins. Find a gauge pin that just fits the hole (about 1/8" if I remember correctly), put it in the hole, use the vernier to measure accurately to an edge, then remember to subtract half the diameter of the gauge pin.
That should be accurate enough for screw mounting, since screws anyways have some looseness to them (they are always undersize).
If you are looking at the pcb such that you can read "Slim Devices" in the white silk screen near the edge of the pcb, and the origin is assumed to be in the lower left corner, then the holes are at the following coordinates:
Two large holes: (0.472",0.925") , (6.614",0.925"). These are for the metal stand that sticks out the back.
Four smaller holes: (0.728",0.335") , (6.358",0.335") , (0.630",2.795") , (6.457",2.795"). These are the four screws that hold the case together.
The SB3 pcb is 180mm long, 75mm tall.
I got this info by emailing Slim Devices. The actual pcb will probably be off by a few mills due to various tolerances.
Michaelwagner may be right about the communication getting lost.
