stereo on 24/7? For alarm

If you are going to set the SB3 to wake up with alarm do you leave your stereo on 24/7 so that you can hear the SB3?

Is youe stereo completely silent when there is no input? (i.e. the SB3 is off but stereo is left on for when sb3 turns on)

Unless you have a separate amplifier with an "auto on" feature, yes, the amplifier always needs to be on.

The SB3 is completely silent when it's in standby mode. You may hear a very low hiss caused by the amplifier itself.
