Any suggestions before I go home?

I have a new Squeezebox 3 (wireless) with the latest firmware.
I have a D-Link DSL-G604T router with the latest firmware.
I have a Macintosh Ti Powerbook with the latest Slimserver (6.2).

I have turned off the firewall on the Mac and wireless encryption. All settings are DHCP although I have tried static too.

The Squeezebox 3 will connect to the router but only using Ethernet. It will then only connect to the Macintosh if that is also connect via Ethernet.

The Mac can browse the internet wirelessly via the router without problem.

Any thoughts on how I can resolve this? I will do more thorough troubleshooting when I get home to narrow down the areas it works and doesn't work.

Irritatingly it worked wirelessly for around 30 minutes. Once. Then I had to reset the router for a different reason and it has never worked since :-(

I have reset both the Sqeezebox and the Router and re-entered everything from scratch. I haven't yet tried downgrading the Squeezebox to firmware 28 as suggested but will have a go.

I am not on the same channel or overlapping channel for the wireless route. My SSID is showing and the Squeezebox picks it up.

I get the same result whether I use iTunes or point to a folder.

Thanks for any help or suggestions - I will post the solution if I find it!

I run the same setup apart from a windows PC with slimserver.

During the setup of the SB3 does it ask for the slimserver IP address? It will tell you if it is found or not, from memory it even found the slimserver IP and asked for me to confirm.

With the Dlink I could not get the DHCP server to supply the correct IP address even with MAC filtering. I ended up using the static IP configuration - make sure you are on the same IP range as the MAC PC.

The other difference is I run a wired connection from PC to router.

I'm running with a D-Link DI-624 without any problems. One thing you should be aware of: the SB3 does NOT support any of the SuperG, XR, or Turbo modes of the D-Link routers. If you have those enabled, the SB3 will not be able to obtain an IP address via DHCP, and even if you give it a static IP, it will not be able to communicate with the router.

To connect the SB3 wirelessly, make sure that SuperG, Turbo, and XR mode are ALL disabled. You should then have no problems as long as the signal is sufficiently strong (>20% or so).

(WEP, WPA, or WPA2 should all be fine though, AFAIK. I'm using WPA-PSK without issues.)

Upgrading to the latest firmware (only available from down under) means I can now connect wirelessly.
