Hi Tony
The i2c bus is used to control the MP3 decoder in the SLIMP3 and the
Squeezebox. (Sean, please correct me, if I'm wrong.)
So far the Squeezebox firmware can only handle write commands.
You can have a look at my i2c project here:

Hi Guys,
I'm new to the developer list. Was wondering if anyone could advise me on
the following please?
I'm planning to write a slimserver client for the Rio Receivers (Dell DDAR).
Having looked at the available protocol spec it has a command for
writing/reading the i2c bus on the slimp3. Could anyone shed any light on
what (if anything) this is currently used for please? And is there a current
version of the protocol spec?
Many thanks
Tony
