View Full Version : Favorite stations no longer connecting?
I use my Squeezebox v3 most of the time to stream favorite stations via Squeezenetwork.
Since the last fw upgrade (a week or so ago), a lot of the favorite stations I'd saved (mostly after selecting them from the already indexed stations, not by adding my own URLs) are suddenly no longer tuning in.
Stranger still I don't get "Problem connecting" messages etc. when I try to play them; I just get the name... and Now Playing shows "nothing." Never any sound.
Examples would be: Cryosleep... TSF the jazz station in Paris... Radio Paradise as of last night...
These are all stations that DID work until recently; not ones that have never worked (e.g. KQED in San Francisco -- never worked for me).
Is anything going on with the network? I assume the station's streams are being captured by Squeezenetworks servers and forwarded to me -- or at least the current URLs are -- so I'm at a loss as how to get them working again.
Is it as simple as deleting my favorites and re-adding them from updated entries in the listings...?
PS is it my imagination or does the remote control "lag" issue seem significantly improved on the latest fw?
I had the same thing happen to the favourites in my slimserver.
I had to delete them and then re-add them the standard way to get the stations to play again.
I haven't been able to successfully connect to squeezenetworks yet, but maybe you could try the same thing there.

TFS doesn't play for me either, I'm looking into it.

Hmm, KQED works for me.

They are actually streamed directly to your player, but the server does do a bit
of work before it sends the stream URL to your player.

This shouldn't be necessary.

TSF actually appears to have changed their stream URL. This is usually the most
common reason stations stop working, and there isn't much we can do about it.
I'll update the SD Picks list to include the new URL, which is:
Please try playing your other station that doesn't play in Winamp or something
to see if it's actually a problem with the radio station. If it works in Winamp
but not on SN, please send me the URL.
Thanks for your help!
Fwiw I was able to get TFS back this morning (re-added it to my favorites from what I'm guessing is the new URL under favorites by city...) (hooray!), and Radio Paradise is working again as well (also re-added).
My old links for both are still down, and I never can remember how to *delete* things from my favorites when connected directly to squeezenetwork... :)
Oddly though I notice two of my other favorite wallpaper stations, Bossa Nova Breakfast and Cryosleep, seem to have vanished entirely from the listings! I'll have to check up on those now!
This morning everything was working like a charm !
This evening my Danish favourites no loger worked.
If you can pls. have a look at the following :
Apparently also 977 - 80's channel is GONZO :-(
Also works via Winamp
All of them just works fine in Winamp
Thanks in advance
Yeah, there's a bug with some streams at the moment. A fix will be up very soon.
Thanks man !Thumbs up !
Please try your stations again, this bug should be fixed now.
I found something on their website about how their hosting company suddenly changed and gave them no warning. We have not had TSF on our box since Saturday.
Best Jazz Station on the web and some hosting company goes greedy...
