Is there any way to access the rather nice random mix features
via the CLI ?

In particular setting and getting the current random mix mode,
and turning it on and off.

TIA,

Not yet, but this is a great example of why plugins should be able
to add functions to the Command::execute() command hash.

That way a plugin can install itself there and then use the execute()
mechanism to invoke its new functionality.

The ability for plugins to add commands and queries of their own is on my roadmap for 6.5, as is support for radio. Support for randommix is not on my list yet. Would you mind opening an enhancement request on bugs.slimdevices.com for that? We can track it then (and maybe someone else can work on that...)

RandomMix is just another plugin - should work once the plugins can do the
job.

Completely correct.

However my point was I have no intention so far of changing RandomMix so that it can do the job. Most plugins will require important modifications for that: right now most are a happy mix of button/web/html code all thrown together...
