I'm really coward: only today I updated my "production server" to the 6.2
(SlimServer Version: 6.2b1 - 4334 - Linux - EN - iso-8859-1). I now
noticed that my prefs file still is in the old format. Shouldn't it be
upgraded automatically?

Forget it... a simple permissions issue.
