I'm chuffed that my new SB2 has native FLAC support. I was anticipating that this would enable me to rip to FLAC for gapless goodness, rather than dealing with the hit-and-miss "gapless" MP3 encoding I was using.

Trialling FLAC with Foobar2000, I get fantastic, seamless track transitions (I'm using Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" as my test); however, when listening to the same FLAC files thru headphones on my SB2, I often (well, 3-out-of-10 transitions) can hear a click on track transition.

Where should I be looking in order to get perfect SB2 track transitions using FLAC?

You're streaming as FLAC right? Sounds like you might be experiencing this bug : http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1434

From what I can tell it's missing a fraction of a second at the end of the outgoing track, which, depending on the actual track, could easily sound like a click.

The workaround (listed in the bug report) is to disable flc->flc and stream everything as PCM. More bandwidth of course, but truly perfect transitions.

If you think you might be being affected by the bug please vote for it, as it's been around a while but only a very small number of people seem to have noticed it. I'd like very much for it to be fixed :)

Yep - disabling the FLAC -> FLAC conversion, but leaving FLAC -> WAV enabled, leaves nice clean transitions (yay!) ... but doesn't allow ffwd/rwnd functions (boo!)

Tell me how to vote, and I'm there ;)

I have also voted for this bug and encourage others to vote for it too.
