Softsqueeze doesn't start any more

I don't know whether this is due to my newly installed system or the
changes you recently did. When I start softsqueeze I get the following
error:

This happens on a new machine, only installed yesterday, with the latest
trunk version. Maybe I'm missing something I did on other machines...

It's not my machine. I just checked with my old desktop - same problem. I
reverted to the previous version and am fine again.
