Just thought I would recommend this brilliant tool for anyone who needs to edit tags en-masse.

I've ripped > 5000 tracks already using a comma as the seperator character in my genre tags only to realise that this clashes with some other files that use comma in their title.

I've just run a script in Mp3tag to replace all occurrences of comma with a semi-colon in the genre tag and it's fixed the lot!

What a superb tool - and it's free too!

Agreed--it's good software, I recommend it all the time.

For Linux, easytag seems pretty comparable. (Best one I've had the chance to use on Linux, certainly)

Hi,

Hope you don't me asking a question here.

Just downloaded mp3tag and started to play/find out how it works. Looks simple enough to use - I need simple where computers are concerned!

I changed "Jazz Vocal" to "Acid" throughout Norah Jones's Album (flac), just to check the change will show through on slimserver.....but it did not. I did press the save button and it said that all the tags had been changed. I did press Refresh and Rescan in slimserver too.

I know its probably me doing something daft, Please help.

You have to use "wipe cache" to get the Slimserver to notice changes
made to files it has already scanned; it doesn't otherwise notice
updated tag info. (I believe this behavior is scheduled to be improved
in the 6.1 release.)
