Converting iTunes Apple Lossless Library to FLAC on Windows-

Given the SB2's native support for FLAC, I'm considering changing my library over to FLAC from Apple Lossless.

What would people recommend as the best method for doing this as I have about 300gigs. One of my concerns it tagging as I understand files are tagged in Apple Lossless through a seperate file, where FLAC files are tagged with metadata inbedding into the file. Any guidance is appreciated.

Seeing as there is no official decoder for ALAC, this might prove
difficult. The new beta of foobar2000
(http://www.foobar2000.org/beta.html) allegedly has ALAC decoding
support and works very well for transcoding - however that most
probably won't help with preserving the tags.

You might want to look at dbpoweramp also. There's an Apple Lossless decoder available.

Why wouldn't this preserve the tags? Foo currently preserves tags very nicely when converting other formats to FLAC.
