Nope. Can't get it to work. Followed Daniel's instructions. I do get
AlienBBC listed as a plugin and in the squeezebox (or softsqueeze)
menus under internet radio and can browse to various BBC streams. But
nothing plays.
A few things I think are broken:
1. There is some perl vaguery I might be missing. I installed one of
several different HMTL parsers available from fink - html-parser-pm581.
I have no idea if this is correct relative to other html-parser-pmxxx
options.
2. I get the following error upon running:
./slimserver.pl --d_plugins
Error is:
Use of uninitialized value in pattern match (m//) at
/Library/PreferencePanes/SlimServer.prefPane/Contents/server/Plugins/
Alien/Plugin.pm line 594.
Can't ignore signal CHLD, forcing to default.
Hmm...
3. I also looked into the mplayer installation done by fink. Although
it does seem to install, it is very dependent on the xfree libraries.
It runs (badly) under xfree86. I am not sure about the command line. So
this might also be a problem.
4. FYI, the fink install of madplayer is called madplay
It think that is all for now. Bummer.
