Daniel:
Thanks for your detailed instructions. A few questions:
1. I was going to try something similar, but got stumped when Fink
wanted to install a new version of xfree86 in place of Apple's X
windows. This a big problem for me since I depend heavily on Apple's X
system (for matlab). So how to get mplayer onto a mac, but not muck up
one's X installation?
2. You state:
> my $proxy_path =
> "/Library/PreferencePanes/SlimServer.prefPane/Contents/server/
> transcoder_proxy.pl
>
> or
>
> my $proxy_path =
> "/Users/yourusername/Library/PreferencePanes/SlimServer.prefPane/
> Contents/server/transcoder_proxy.pl
>
> where, as before, 'yourusername' should be replaced by your actual
> user name. Don't forget the semi-colon at the end of the line.
But you don't have semicolon's on the send of the lines???
3. Wondering if it is worth trying to duplicate what you did if you
still can't get it to play anything? I doubt I know more than you about
this...
4. If you get this working, could you try adding WMA streams?
Supposedly these should work since mplayer should play them...
5. I am happy to test things. Please let me know how I could help...
Thanks, Mike
